Fucina water mill
The Fucina Water Mill at Mollia, with construction dating back to the 1600s, is a real factory with various operations: a forge, a mill, an oven, a carpenter's and a grain shelter. Testimony to the perfect, harmonious fusion of people and the region in which they live and work, it is a real engineering jewel skilfully restored and fully operational. Built on four levels, it takes the energy needed for its operation from a water wheel powered by the adjacent river. Included in the Ecomuseums of Valsesia, the water mill is a short distance from the lovely hamlet of Piana Fontana which is well worth visiting for its beautiful architecture that skilfully combines elegance with a distinctly rural feel.
